Understanding proof of address rejections

Your proof of address may be rejected if the document doesn't meet our requirements.

Accepted documents

• Utility bill
• Bank statement
• Government letter

Image requirements

To rule out quality issues, we recommend that your image is:

• An original photo or scan in JPG, JPEG, PNG, or PDF format
• At least 100 KB or 300 DPI
• In color, high-quality, and readable
• Fully visible on all corners

Address document requirements

The uploaded document must:

• Be issued within the past three months, with the date visible
• Be in good condition (not scratched, stained, or torn)
• Show your full name, issue date, issuing company or authority, and full home address including city, street, house, and flat number
• Match the name on your ID document

Do not upload

• Animated images
• Black-and-white photos
• Images containing foreign objects or graphic elements
• Images edited with graphics software or converted to PDF

Common rejection reasons

• The document has expired or is older than three months
• The full name or address doesn't match your MAKE account details
• The document is blurry, cropped, edited (for example, written on), or hard to read
• The type of document provided isn't accepted (for example, a handwritten note or unsupported file type)
