How do I set up my USD business account?

Setting up your USD business account allows you to send and receive USD under your name. Once completed, you will be provided with an account number, a bank address, and an ABA Routing number.

To complete the process, you will need the following documents:

Company documents:

-Business Tax Identification Certificate: EIN confirmation letter, Tax Registration Certificate, or VAT Certificate.

-Company's Proof of Address: Bank statement, utility bill, or government record issued within the last 3 months. If you have already provided a Proof of Address during your Business account creation within the last 3 months, the system will not ask for it again.

-Company's Proof of Earnings: Bank statement, utility bill, or government record issued within the last 3 months. If you have already provided a Proof of Address during your Business account creation within the last 3 months, the system will not ask for it again.
 

Shareholders' documents:

-Shareholders' Proof of Address: Bank statement, utility bill, or Government record issued within the last 3 months. 
If all shareholders have already provided a Proof of Address during the business account creation within the last 3 months, the system will not ask for it again.

-Proof of Earnings: Bank statement issued within the last 3 months.
This document will be requested for shareholders who collectively own 51% or more of the company. If there is only one shareholder meeting this threshold, only their information will be required.
If all shareholders have already provided a Proof of Earnings during the business account creation within the last 3 months, the system will not ask for it again.
 

Step 1: Open a business account for your company.

Step 2: Provide additional details about your company and shareholders.

Step 3: All shareholders complete the steps received by mail.

HOW TO APPLY (Detailed guide) :
 

1. On the main page, click Select currency (If you just created your account), or the + Icon (If you already have a MAKE account). 
   If you already have a USD account, skip to step 3.
   
                                         
   
    
2. Select USD, and Open currency account.
   
   
   
    
3. Click on Apply now, below the message "Get a USD account under your name". 
   
       
    

4. You will see 3 steps.
   
   
   
    

   Additional details - Set your company industry and upload all mandatory documents.
   
   -Tax Identification Certificate 
   -Company's Proof of Address 
   -Company's Proof of Earnings
   
   
   
    
    

   Once completed, you will be able to move to the second step: US Tax Reporting.

   Click Continue.
   A DocuSign page will be displayed. Depending on where your business is registered, you will need to fill out one of the following forms:
   -If your business is based outside the United States, fill out the W-8BEN-E.
   -If your business is based in the United States, fill out the W9.
   
   
   
   
    

   After successfully filling in and signing the document, you will be prompted to start the shareholder verification step. 

   You will see all shareholders for whom you need to prepare the data.
   
   
   
    

   After selecting the shareholder, set the occupation, and click Send Email to shareholder.
   
   
   
    

5. The Shareholder will receive 2 emails in sequence. Once opened, they will see Action required — they will click on Start Verification, then fill in their information and complete the process. 
   
   -Proof of Address 
   -Proof of Earnings 
           
    

   
    

6. Once done, a second email will automatically be sent with the final step for the Shareholder. Click Sign Agreement.
   
   
    

   After each shareholder has completed their steps, you can go back to the MAKE app.
   
   
    

7. Once all shareholders have completed their steps, you will see the "Hang tight" banner while the account is being created. This may take a few minutes.
   
   
    
8. When completed, you can receive money under the new account. 
   
   Click Add Money → Bank Transfer → See Account Details.

I am a director but not a shareholder — does it change anything in the process?

- The process will ask for a Proof of Address and a Proof of Earnings. If you have already provided a Proof of Earnings during the business account creation within the last 3 months, the system will not ask for it again.
